| Equipment
Requirements |
- Find or purchase a minimum 2'X2" cardboard
box. One with clean sides will work the best.
|
- Tape the flaps shut on both the top and bottom
of the box.
|
- Cut a round hold in both the top and bottom
of the box, so the box will fit down over your child's body.
|
- Mount handles on the sides or straps to fit
over the shoulders.
|
- Color and decorate the entire outside of
the box. The words "Lil Racer Car Club" must
be printed in block letters in the lower left-hand corner
of the two sides.
|
- Use paper plates for wheels. Pick a
number for your car and put it on the sides.
|
- Avoid attachments that will make the box
too heavy.
|
- Wear tennis shoes or sneakers that TIE
only.
|
- Wear socks. Extra pair optional.

| The
Race and Age Groups |
| Racers
will be divided into the following groups: |
| Ages 2, 3, 4, 5 |
| Ages 6, 7, 8, |
| Ages 9, 10, 11 |
| Ages 12, 13, 14 |
|
|
|
- The race will take place on the front of the racetrack.
|
- Start at the left end of the straightaway.
|
- Stop at the "finish line" near turn 1 for Pit
Stop (see notes).

| Rules
for Pit Stop |
| During the pit stop,
all racers must remove their socks and shoes and then put them
back on and tie them securely before reentering the race.
You my bring a spare pair of socks. For younger racers,
a parent may be a helping pit stop person. |
| Prizes
|
- Trophy for the "best looking" boxcar
in each class (chosen by an independent judge.)
|
- Winners of each race to move into the next
round.
|
- All racers will receive a ribbon of participation.
